Insurance Simplified

The Wisdom Dental Discount Plan is a cost-effective membership program tailored for individuals without dental insurance or those who have reached their annual insurance maximums. This plan grants access to discounted rates on dental services, comparable to those negotiated through large group plans. While it is not dental insurance, it provides select preventive services at no charge and substantial discounts on other procedures.

Important Note: This plan is not dental insurance and does not function as a substitute for coverage under any private insurance policy.

Eligibility and Discounts

Adults and children are eligible to enroll in the Wisdom Dental Discount Plan. Members receive discounts ranging from 25% to 100% off Wisdom Dental Group’s Usual, Customary, and Reasonable (UCR) fees—the standard charges for dental procedures and services. 

While not comprehensive, select common services are compared below. Any procedure not explicitly listed (and not excluded) will receive a minimum of 25% discount compared to the UCR fee on the personalized treatment plan while the patient is covered under the discount plan. Treatment and Payment Terms

Discounts apply only to services diagnosed and/or approved by the treating dentist. Payment is due, in-full, prior to the procedure, unless arrangements and/or payment plans have been signed and executed. Fees are exclusive of applicable state or local taxes. This plan cannot be used in conjunction with or as a replacement for fees contracted under private insurance or Medicaid.  This discount plan can be used, in conjunction with a signed “Non-Covered Service Agreement”, toward any cost excluded by Medicaid insurance plans. Patients covered under private insurance plans are not eligible for this discount plan in the same year that they have used their private insurance plan.

Plan Features

Unlike traditional insurance, the Wisdom Dental Discount Plan eliminates claim forms, pre-existing condition limitations, deductibles, and annual maximums. Essential exams, radiographs, and certain preventive services are offered at no cost or deeply discounted rates. Eligible services, as determined necessary by the treating dentist, are available at reduced fees when performed at participating Wisdom Dental Group locations (see https://www.wisdomdentalgroup.com/). Services requiring referral to an external specialist or non-participating provider are not covered.

Plan Specifics

Enrollment requires a one-time $10 initiation fee, followed by $10 per month per patient. Benefits are only available while the plan remains active, meaning payments are current without lapse.  In most cases this fee will be incorporated into the treatment plan and can be amortized into the payment plan.  Speak to the Treatment Plan Coordinator for more details.

• Delinquency Policy: If payments lapse, the account becomes delinquent. All overdue amounts must be settled to reactivate the plan, prior to discounts on services. 

• Consequences of Closure: Plan cancellation during active treatment results in full UCR fees for any remaining procedures. Members who elect to close their account are ineligible for reenrollment for one year from the closure date. A second cancellation will forfeit the patient’s eligibility for the discount plan.   

• Benefit Credits: Unused credits for free exams or whitening accumulate (up to a maximum of four per category) if the account remains active and current, allowing for more frequent services as needed. Credits are forfeited upon plan cancellation or closure.

For just $10 down and $10 monthly, members enjoy:

• Complimentary exam every 6 months

• Complimentary radiographs every 6 months

• Complimentary teeth whitening every 6 months*

• 25%–100% discounts on most procedures (exclusions apply; see below)

• Accumulating credits for exams and whitening (up to four per category)

Exclusions

The following services are not eligible for discounts under the Wisdom Dental Discount Plan:

1. Specialty services by non-participating dentists.

2. General anesthesia, IV sedation, or hospital-related benefits.

3. Services deemed unnecessary or potentially harmful by the treating dentist

4. Procedures covered by active dental insurance with remaining benefits, or patients who have private dental coverage in the same year.

5. Treatment for work-related injuries under workers' compensation or employer liability.

6. Services for injuries from automobile accidents.

7. Full arch or full mouth rehabilitation (All-on-X)

8. Diagnosis and treatment of atypical pain conditions (e.g., fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, or trigeminal neuralgia, etc.)

9. Care for patients demonstrating non-compliance with recommended treatment.

10. Procedures initiated prior to plan enrollment.

11. This is a 12-month recurring membership. Early cancellation, non-payment for at least two consecutive months, or failure to pay for prior services may result in forfeiture of discounts and retroactive billing at full UCR rates for rendered services.

*Eligible for free whitening only after the doctor-recommended cleaning has been performed, and only when approved by the treating dentist.
