Dr. Jonah Foutz
Dentist, Owner, CEO

Dr. Foutz was born in Farmington, New Mexico, the son of Trading Post Owners. He grew up on the Navajo Reservation with an upbringing that could only be described as a high-stakes adventure in resilience. He learned the value of hard-work, the trials that come without an education, and to never come home with a pocket full of baby rattlesnakes (Yes, that really happened.) In college, Dr. Foutz played football at Utah Tech University and, later, at the University of New Mexico. It was there, at age 21, that he married the love of his life, proving that sometimes the best plays happen off the field. Together they navigated moving across the country several times to earn an assortment of college degrees and, in the process, had an assortment of children. Since his graduation from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2012, Dr. Foutz has earned an MBA from UMKC, opened 7 Dental Offices, 2 Dental Assisting Schools, and a Dental Marketing Group. His passion for business relies heavily on his rooted belief that everything we do can be done better: And just like that, Wisdom Dental Group was born to satisfy his drive to provide a truly superior patient experience that can be found with a culture sown in smiles, transparency, and efficiency.

Sophia Foutz
Office Director, Owner, COO

Sophia remembers her childhood as “permeated by magic” to the point that she had no idea she was poor. She attributes this happy mirage to her mother’s love and creativity. Growing-up she was homeschooled, moving from arid deserts to tropical paradises, to frigid tundras; a nomadic educational lifestyle that etched the richness of cultural diversity into her heart. Despite appearances, there is one thing Sophia isn't: a risk-taker. Though cliche, her favorite pastimes are enjoying tame adventures traveling, and spending time with her 5 children and their families. Sophia attended the University of New Mexico before tackling an MBA at UMKC’s Bloch School of Management, utilizing her background in human physiology and honing her talent for systems analytics towards Executive Leadership in Healthcare Administration. Since 2012, Sophia has managed both corporate and private dental practices, orchestrating operations at a national corporate dental company, growing their most profitable practice in the U.S. from the ground up. Drawn from the resilience cultivated in her wayfaring childhood, Sophia’s “why” is: We all do better when we all do better.

Lacey, Clinical Director
Lacey
Clinical Director

Lacey was born and raised in the small town of Newman, California, known as the “Cream Pitcher of the Pacific” for its prolific agricultural roots. Surrounded by corn fields and cattle, Lacey learned to speak the language of agriculture from an early age. She grew up near her grandparents, wrapped in the steady heartbeat of the family dairy. Lacey stepped into the ring with 4-H, was heavily involved with FFA, and received a STEM scholarship to attend college, being the first in her family to graduate from college with a degree in Dental Assisting. Lacey and love, Kevin, have two exquisite children who inherited their parents' pastoralism. After a stint as a SAH mom for 8 years, Lacey re-entered the workforce ready to grow. In 2024, they purchased a small farm where Lacey has been able to blend her dental service with ag-life, proving that she can create a home while pursuing self-actualization through her career goals. She is currently working towards an EFDA certification to further the scope of her assisting capabilities. Lacey has worked with Dr. Foutz at all of his dental offices in Missouri, and has been an invaluable asset as his Clinical Director at each. In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking, going thrifting, antiquing, and adding cookbooks to her collection. Lacey maintains that: “The mindset you carry shapes the life you create”...because, she believes, family deserves all your love and magic.

Uchenna
Dental Assistant

Shaped largely by his Nigerian heritage, Uchenna grew up surrounded by strong values, strong culture, and plenty of personality. Early experience impressed on him the love of family, respect for others, and taught him the importance of connection within society. As a child, he was always on his bike, which yielded skinned knees, but helped him develop independence and resilience that was nicely tempered by his natural peaceful demeanor. As an adult, Uchenna spent two years living in Mahajanga, Madagascar, a transformative experience that redefined his priorities and lit his desire to make a meaningful impact in his community. In the small jungle village of Analamalotra, he met a child named Finaritra with a mandibular tumor who had never seen a doctor. Seeing firsthand how simple access to care could be the difference between life and death, Uchenna was motivated to pursue a career in dentistry. This pivotal experience highlighted the importance of compassion and consistency in both life and work that Uchenna continually strives for. He is currently studying microbiology as a pre-dental student with a focus on oral health impacts on overall well-being. His name means “The Will of God,”; his constant reminder to move with purpose and remain grounded in all of life’s seasons. Despite prioritizing academic and professional growth, he believes that the foundation for all success is creating an environment where stress is minimized through authentic interactions. He approaches each opportunity with patience, discipline, and attention to detail—guided by a mindset of: “Precision with Purpose.”

Jack
Dental Assistant

Jack was raised in Corrales, New Mexico, on a lush fruit orchard with peaches, pears, plums, and apples. Jack occasionally wondered if his parents bought the property specifically to put hair on his chest and calluses on his hands. A typical day varied by season, but always involved collaborating with his arsenal of siblings to harvest fruits, mow the property, prune dead limbs, or weed extensively. With his background prioritizing hard work, Jack also pursued rugby, ju-jitsu, and track- which he hated. The instilled values of childhood produced his devotion to teamwork, efficiency, and caution against introducing stray creatures indoors (a lesson learned after eleven lizards, one tarantula, countless spiders and centipedes, and a single snake…which all mysteriously disappeared). After graduating high school, Jack spent 2 years living near the outskirts of Puebla, Mexico, learning the language, loving his new friends, the culture, and the food while doing his level best to serve others diligently. Following his initial linguistic mishaps—like repeatedly declaring himself "pregnant" instead of "embarrassed"—he finally felt comfortable with Spanish and was able to chill enough to embrace Puebla's vibrant, welcoming culture. Currently, Jack is double-majoring in microbiology and mathematics. He aspires to attend dental school at UMKC and maybe even find a wife in the process. Driven by an inherent commitment to service, Jack finds joy in striving to become the best man he can be because he believes: "He who wishes to secure the good of others must have already secured his own.

Isaac
Dental Assistant

Isaac was raised in a small mountain town outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has always had a passion for medicine and is motivated by helping people have a better quality of life. As a child, sports were his passion; helping him develop leadership skills and understand the value of hard work. He graduated from Estancia Valley Classical Academy as Valedictorian, National Honor Society honoree, and Varsity Soccer Captain. Isaac spent substantial time engaged in service projects with both familial commitments, and volunteer groups. Moreover, his love for service grew during the two years he spent in rural communities in Chile prioritizing service, while honing his Spanish skills and loving the food! Isaac was married in late spring of 2026 and feels honored to be married to his best friend. Isaac is attending Brigham Young University majoring in Economics and hopes to attend dental school at UMKC. His dual passions for both business and healthcare have inspired his goal to eventually own his own dental practice dedicated to innovation and improving the lives of others in a significant way. One day he hopes to implement dental service trips to developing countries as part of his business model to align his business life with his moral drive. Isaac believes that "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." -Winston Churchill

Taylor, Marketing Director
Taylor
Marketing Director

Raised in Liberty, Missouri, Taylor’s story began with resilience. After seven miscarriages, her parents adopted her older brother, and just one month later, they found out they were expecting her. Growing up in a household that valued perseverance and faith shaped her outlook early on. Influenced by her Panamanian, Chinese, and American heritage and years of traveling, Taylor developed a deep appreciation for culture, connection, and the power of perspective. From a young age, Taylor gravitated toward creativity and expression, especially through fashion. In high school, she turned that passion into action by building and running a fashion-focused social media account that grew to over 25,000 followers, gaining hands-on experience in brand building, audience engagement, and digital strategy. Alongside being a cheerleader and track athlete, she was already thinking like a marketer. That drive led her to pursue a degree in Business and Communications at UMKC, where her passion for marketing truly took shape. Since then, she has brought that passion into the real world, marketing across industries ranging from mission-driven nonprofits to the fast-paced world of radio, proving she can adapt her voice while staying true to the message. Today, she is driven by vision and long-term impact. When she is not dreaming up new business ventures, she is experimenting in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book, or hiking with her dog. A personal quote Taylor lives by is, “No hay mal que por bien no venga,” a reminder that every obstacle carries the seed of something better.
